I-Care Optics boss vows to eliminate blindness in Gambia

Chief Executive Officer of I-Care Optics, Muhammed Alam, has promised to eliminate blindness in The Gambia as many Gambians are suffering from Glaucoma and Cataract eye complications.

CEO Muhammed made this remark during the inauguration of its third branch at Brikama Kombo East with the mission to provide a clear vision with the best eye facilities and the latest available technology and equipment at affordable prices.

 Speaking during the inauguration, the CEO highlighted that the institution is an eye clinic established on 15th June, 2022 with the ultimate goal of providing efficient, accessible, and affordable eye care services and products for the public.

Among other goals of I-Care Optics is to eliminate blindness in The Gambia and ensure the eyes of all are healthy.

 “This clinic has professional ophthalmic, dispensing optician and contact lens practitioners; the institution does eye examination; frames; sells lenses; sunglasses and contact lenses” he noted

 According to him, the company offers several eye services including eye testing services, refraction (both objective and subjective), retinoscopy, and auto refractometry. We also have several eye items on sale including spectacles and accessories or dispensary, sunglasses UV and polarized photochromatic with Arc lenses tinted or polarized lenses, blue max lenses, multifocal lenses, and others.

 “Since its establishment, I-Care Optics has contributed to the development of the Gambia, recently, we have provided free eye examinations for people at Saffideen and Senegambia respectively. We have also offered free eye screening for officers of The Gambia Prison Service (GPS) and several prisoners at the Mile II Central Prison as well as The Gambia Immigration Department,” he explained

 “Therefore, I call on public institutions, the private sector, diplomatic missions, and individuals to partner with I-Care Optics. On the 13th of September 2023, I-Care Optics will inaugurate another branch at Basse, the administrative region of the Upper River Region of The Gambia.

 Awa Njie Conteh, Marketing Manager of I-Care Optics said I-Care is an initiative that is geared towards improving the health of the Gambian people on the eyesight aspect.

 She reiterated that it is common knowledge that the majority of the Gambian population is dealing with eye complications, while I-Care is the encyclopedic remedy and the solution to every eye predicament. “We have experts for different eye disorders, that is why our mission is to enhance a clear vision for everyone and to reduce blindness to its lowest peak in The Gambia,” she said with confidence.

 However, she said this new office (Brikama Branch) is essential to provide accessible and affordable eye services and products for their customers within the West Coast Region and beyond.
