Kerwan Upper and Senior School holds graduation, commits to quality education

 Kerewan Upper and Senior Secondary School recently held its graduation ceremony for pupils of grades 12 and 9 at the school ground in Kerewan, North Bank Region. 

The graduation ceremony was also used by the school authorities to show appreciation to the school management, teacher’s staff, and parents for their hardworking, commitment, and support for the school.

 Ousman Kebbeh, Principal of Kerewan Senior and Upper Basic Schools applauded the giant stride taken by the school administration in collaboration with the School Management Committee (SMC) to enhance effective learning and teaching towards the attainment of quality education. 

He renewed the school administration’s commitment to transforming the school into an academic center of excellence and reiterated the need for parents to support them to allow their children to enroll in the school.

He said their teachers are highly trained and committed to delivering quality education.

 He stated the achievements the school has registered so far regarding academic performance, sporting and education competitions at regional and national levels. 

Principal Kebbeh disclosed that the School participated in the public speaking competition Fanta Science and Maths at the national level while the school emerged winner at the Regional Spelling Competitions.

He added that most graduated students of the school are registered and completed at the Gambia College, University of the Gambia, School of Nursing, and other tertiary institutions across the country.

 Almameh Fatty Chairman of the School Management Committee called on graduands to be serious in pursuing their education so that they can contribute immensely to the socio-economic development of the country. 

  Almamo Ceesay, Guest Speaker at the occasion dilated on the importance of tertiary education in promoting national development. He underscored the importance of tertiary education saying it is a necessity and it helps to tap the job market as it serves as bedrock in advancing economic growth and educational development.
