Kajally Jatta, youth leader and a native of the Upper River Region (URR) has urged the Government to improve in the area of youth employment.

“Many youths of this country are not employed the government should improve in the area of youth empowerment for a better nation,” Jatta told The Voice in an interview.

He added unemployment is one of the most difficult issues youths are currently facing in the country because on the streets you find thousands of youth that are not employed.

However, he highlighted the challenges the youths of the country are facing, saying the majority of tertiary institution students graduate with good degrees and certificates without having a job.

“Unemployed individuals are at a higher risk with depression, and anxiety this leads them to be involved in crimes like stealing, fighting, and so on,” he claimed.

He suggested that the only solution to the problem is for the Government to take a step and address the high rate of unemployment in the country by creating a lot of job opportunities for the youths in the country so that a lot of youths can get benefits to be employed.

He, therefore, urged the Government to establish supplementary industries and companies where youths can easily get jobs to have a better living and suitable life in the country.
