Gambia drawn in Pool A in beach volleyball Commonwealth Games

African champions, The Gambia beach volleyball team have been drawn in Pool A of the beach volleyball Commonwealth Game against Canada, St Kitts & Nevis and Sri Lanka respectively.

This year’s beach volleyball games in Birmingham, UK, will be the second edition of the beach volleyball competition at the Commonwealth Games after the sport made its successful debut at the multi-sports competition four years ago in the Gold Coast, Australia.

The matches that will start from 30 July, will be held in a purpose-built venue at Smithfield, in the centre of Birmingham.

However, the men’s and women’s medal matches will be held on Sunday 7 August.

The Gambia beach volleyball team with pair Sainey Jawo and Mbye Babou Jarra are ranked among the best on the continent.
