Afro-Euro Airline commences training course for over 20 youths

Afro-Euro Airline Security Services, a newly established Gambian own private entity, has started a ten days intensive training for over twenty Gambian youths on Aviation security and protection.

The training is underway at Woodpecker Hotel, Banjulinding in West Coast Region.

The training is led by the Chief Executive officer CEO of Afro-Euro Airline security service, Mr.Lamin Kassama, Modou Sowe General Manager, and Salifu Kujabi Airport operation Manager respectively.

The objective of the training was to enable participants acquire the pre-requisite knowledge to better understand the nature of the threats to civil aviation, to deepening their understanding from an international, regional and national perspective on Airport procedures and operations.

In his welcoming remarks, the General Manager Modou Sowe said this is the first training as an institution or company has engaged.  Mr. Sowe was quick to say that Afro-Euro Airline security company is the first Gambian own Airline security company within the Airline industry.

He disclosed that this is  a company that is purposely established  based on the need  for The  Gambia to have its own  airline security  company , whereby the income  generation  or revenue from the Airline  will be maintained in the country and it will serve for the national development of the Gambia .

Looking at most of the Airline service providers, he said, they are all foreign companies and 95% of the revenue generated from their Airlines is going out of the country, which he said a big loss to the country.

He went on that this is one of the main reasons why they come up with this Afro-Euro  Airline Security Company to better serve the need of the Gambia people, and to make sure that the revenue generated stay in the country for national development.

Mr Sowe said this is 100% Gambian own, to be implemented in The Gambia and ensure that income generated is maintained in The Gambia for the wellbeing and welfare of the country.

The General Manager disclosed that some of the services this new Afro-Euro Airline Company can offer include passengers profiling, baggage reconciliation, and cargo security aircraft protection among other activities around.

Mr.Sowe stated that in this activities, AFRO-Euro Airline are here to complement the effort of Gambia civil Aviation Authority and GIA in the implementation of security standard and recommended practices as assigned by International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO, Airport companies international ACT and International Air –Transportation Administration (IATA)

According to the General Manager, this are the umbrella body companies in term of Aviation protection and security and their work is to facilitate smooth Air- transportation from one destination to another.

In his official opening the Chief Executive officer of Afro-Euro Airline, Lamin Kassama expressed total appreciation to train AFRO-Euro security personnel to better understand the international security best practice.

He described the training as very important, as far aviation security is concern.

According to the CEO most of the service Airlines providers are foreigners, and this is what led to three young and experience Gambian including himself Mr.Kassama to develop this concept of establishing this Afro-Euro Airline Company with the aim to boost the Economy of this country.

He advised participants take the training with passion and commitment to the   Afro-Euro Airline security company, the Gambia will surely maintain its revenue base in this country. He also stated that aim of the Afro-Euro Airline Company is to have highly train, and motivated security personal that are well professional in delivering its services.
