All Peoples Party (APP) national president, Gumbo Ali Touray has identified his party’s top priority to be health system, education and the economy sector saying his party has potential specialist and technocrats who are ready to sacrifice their efforts for the Gambian people.

“The party is concentrating on three tenant’s development that is health system, education and the economy sector this country has lingered for the past 22 years. It is a small country with 10 thousand square kilometers,” he told The Voice exclusively.

According to him, the land and resources are available but the potentials for development is lacking, “our social attitudes should be changed and it is fundamental that if we really want to go forward, we must look inwards.”

“That is to say we need to re-examine ourselves, our status quo  and set ourselves to for challenge that we must do better and will have better,’’ he added

Meanwhile, he said time has come for the Gambians to re think of their existence and re-orient themselves in other to move forward for social and economic developments, for the betterment of the entire nation.

“The voting of the diaspora is very crucial and APP will continue to emphasis on this matter till we see that it happens. The diaspora is remitting about 50 to 20% of the National economy that is 28 billion dalasi’s every year that alone is huge amount of foreign currency which can easily boost our economy.

“Due to that fact they have the right and the political franchise to select who to elect to rule our beloved country. We believe that any responsible government should give political franchise.  APP will assure Gambians that diaspora will have position in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if we gain power in December presidential elections,” he said.

According to him, Gambians need to re-think carefully because they are heading towards election and it just indecent to allow the same square pegs in the round holes to rule us again “people who cannot decide for themselves will not rule us again the era of dictatorship, hardship, betrayal will come to an end.”
