Parents advise to take responsibility over children

Parents have been advised to take up responsibility and discipline their children to help nurture the found peace and stability in the country.

Advising parents at the inauguration ceremony of the New Yundum Police Post on Thursday was Police Commissioner, Famara  Jallow saying the new police post would help to maintain peace and order with the community.

“If we train our children well as our religions request (Islam and Christianity), then both parents and children will not make any mistake. If everyone does what should be done rightly, no police station or post would be built,” he said.

He therefore urged the public to help the security personnel to maintain peace and stability throughout the country.

The Police Commissioner noted that “Whenever, you respect and honour the Police then respect and honour your parents because police respect and rely on your parents.”

He went on expressed gratitude to the youth group and entire residents of New Yundum for constructing the Police Post for the traffic officers posted to their territory.

He stressed further that on the importance of respecting the security officers particularly those at the New Yundum Police Post because “none of the police officers at this Post is a resident of the village but they are ensuring smooth transportation of goods and services along the highway.”

The New Yundum Youth for Development (NYYD) voluntarily sponsored the construction of the new Police Post.
