Young Entrepreneurs Discusses Business Opportunities and challenges

Young Gambian Entrepreneurs on Tuesday organized a panel discussion about their current situation, opportunities, challenges and solutions.

These young entrepreneurs are very hardworking and always looking forward for the betterment of their businesses.

Mohammed Danso, a young entrepreneur, said the government of The Gambia should support the entrepreneurs, provide enough funds to all the entrepreneurs and visit trade fair to see what they have in the market.

He pointed out that, young entrepreneurs faced many challenges when it comes to finance, inadequate factories, electricity for poultry farmers, exportation, society critics and copying each other rather than working according to our own creativities.

Mustapha Njie CEO of TAF African Homes called on the government of The Gambia   change GTTI into a university because in every institution there should be skills involve, adding that all the country need is need skills development.

Abubacarr Shao, GCCI member said, it’s important to understand as a Chamber of Commerce, noting that they tried since 1965 to be able to back all the responsibilities they know especially the issue of finance.

Momarr Taal, founder of Tropingo food, said in The Gambia the three things that are above in the agriculture sector which are competitive and available everywhere are cashew, mango and groundnut, revealing that that he decided to set up a mango factory to make mango juice.

Ya Ida Cham, an entrepreneur noted that whenever tourist comes to the Gambia they visit their local markets and restaurant.

“That’s one of the reasons why I decided to come up with the idea of owning a local restaurant and provide only local dish to promote our culture”, she said.
