The Headmaster of Jambangjelly Nursery School in Kombo South District, West Coast Region hailed the entire membership of the Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG) organization for the concern they have for the future leaders of this country and Gambians in general.

Buba Jammeh made this remarks on Saturday during the presentation of educational materials, garden tools and 71 bags of rice to their sponsor’s students of 75 at both Jambangjelly Nursery and Upper Basic Schools.

Jammeh expressed on behalf of his entire teaching staff, Senior Management Team (SMT) and the students of his school their profound appreciation to BFoTG for the support they are rendering to the school for the past years.

“Since we started partnership with BFoTG over ten years ago, the Nursery School is improving  rapidly especially the ongoing renovation of six classroom blocks which is costing the sponsors over D850,000,” expressed.

According to Headmaster  Jammeh, they will do all they can to make sure the students improve on their academic performance so that their sponsors back in Belgium can continue sponsoring them up to their senior secondary school level.

He revealed before their Belgian sponsors that in this 2019 to 2020 academic year, his School has an enrollment of 421 students out which 225 are girls and 196 are boys.

The chairman, Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG) Patrick de Vos informed parents whose children are attending Jambangjelly Nursery and Upper Basic Schools that the ongoing renovation exercise at the Nursery School is so far the biggest project his organization is undertaking.

Mr. Vos urged the Headmaster and the students under their sponsorship packages to always send the result slips to them on time to Belgian in order to avoid dalliance.

“The Belgian citizens who are sponsoring these students are interested in knowing the academic performance of their sponsors students because through that they will be able to gauge whether their sponsors students are doing well or not at school,” Mr. Vos explained.
