DK MOVES ACADEMY RECEIVED 40FT CONTAINER FROM BELGIUM

The DK Moves academy on Saturday received a 40foot container of school materials and other items from Belgium. The school which is name under the DK MOVES ‘DEKEMPENEER’ an Official mover has donated the items to the school.

The item donated are desk, seats, books, pencils, bicycles to ride to school and other school materials; were all donated under DK moves foundation’s name.

Pascale Pir, Project Director to the Gambia said this started a year ago when she came to the Gambia she doesn’t want to live among tourist; because she wants to know the culture.

She explained that during one of the visit in town, children were asking for gift and she gave all what she have to them.

“On that ground I told my friend in the Gambia that I wants to help the kids and women, so I get back to Belgium I discussed it with our company whether they can offer a helping hand, which they agreed  now the foundation provides education for children from 3 to 8years old,” she noted.

She further explained that they are more than 200 kids, pay the teachers remuneration to the school and have equipped the school with running water, electricity and three toilets and now construction of class walls.

Sainey Jammeh, the country coordinator of the foundation said they foundation is offering the kids the chance to be educate since most of the kids are less opportune.

He said as the coordinator he make sure teachers are punctual and make sure the kids got their lesson as appropriate; that the cleanness of the school ground is also his concern.

Jammeh added that the 40 foot container is full of learning materials for children as well as clothing and shoes. He commended everyone who made it possible for the academy to receive the gifts especially DK moves foundation.
