Impeachable sources closed to Rawdatul Majaalis, an Islamic Association informed this medium that they had solved the Caste system clashes at Diabugu Batapa Village in Sandu District of the Northern part of Upper River Region.

When contacted to shed more light on the issue, the Secretary General of Rawdatul Majaalis Association, Foday Mahmoud Touray confirmed to this medium that they had solved the Caste system crisis at Diabugu Batapa on November 2018.

According to Mr. Touray, during their meeting with Diabugu Batapa Community in the village recently, they promised us (Rawdatul Majaalis members) that they have forgone about the issue adding that what has happened has already happened and have consented that bygone should be bygone .

The villagers have fully assured that such a matter would not be repeated or will never occur in their localities, stressing that as Muslims they will go with the advised given to them by us (Rawdatul Majaalis members) based on Islamic religious principles.

Touray said that they have explained to the Diabugu Batapa Community whom Islam recommended as Caste people, noting that in the present day generation Islam did not recommend any folks as Caste people.

According to Foday Mahmoud Touray, Islamic religion does not allow anyone to give a name to someone that would bring chaos. Therefore, describing someone as Caste people in this present generation should not be encouraged at all.

“The villagers after the final discussion shook their hands together as a sign of accepting to live together in harmony and they also assured us that they really appreciated our visit to them as an Islamic Association that was formed to bring peace and stability between Muslim Ummah and humanity in general,” Touray informed.

According to Rawdatul Majaalis, similarly but separate engagement was at Salikene village in Central Badibou District of North Bank Region where they visited the Salikene Community to discuss with them about their long time Imamship crisis.

Touray informed our reporter that during their discussion with the village Imam, he informed them that he is in support that the Deputy Imamship position should be maintained by the original holders i.e. Darboe Kunda family instead of the one who is currently insisting to hold the position.

“After we conducted our researched on the grounds in Salikene, we found out that the person who refused to allow Darboe Kunda family to continue their Imamship position got a letter from former President Yaya Jammeh’s Government stating the man in question must hold the Imamship position instead of Darboe Kunda family,” Touray revealed.

Touray informed our reporter that they (Rawdatul Majaalis members) have informed the Community of Salikene that they will go back to them so as to see how they can finally solve the crisis which is going on for the past five years up to now.
