Holy Family Band, a leading Gambian band is preparing for what is anticipated to be one of the biggest music concerts ever at Metzy Hotel Residence on New Year’s Eve. Presented by the hotel management, the event is part of welcoming the New Year in grand style, as the new hotel opens its doors to the public.
So to avoid the bustle and hustle of traffic along the Senegambia strip on New Year’s eve, Metzy Hotel is your number destination. Line of up of events is currently in high gear designed to make the public entertained including the New Year’s Eve spectacular fireworks.
Musa Secka, chief executive officer of Metzy Hotel, said the events are part of events welcoming New Year’s Eve, saying the hotel has line up two major events, one on 28 December which is going to be formal opening of the hotel by President Adama Barrow, Minister of Tourism and Culture and other senior government officials, NGOs, communities and hoteliers. Second one, he said, is the New Year’s Gala dinner featuring top Gambian artistes.
“We hope that it will be a successful event and among the activities for the programme will include a conducted tour of the facility and a cocktail reception.”
31st December, he said, there will a New Year eve gala dinner with a lineup of food featuring fireworks and drinks where people would choose from.
Mr. Secka spoke highly of their forthcoming events, noting that the main activity that people are looking during New Year’s Eve is the fireworks. “So people can watch out and I can assure that this is going to be spectacular fireworks that everyone will talk about. We are planning this event so that other people will take us seriously.”
For Omar Darboe, general manager of Metzy hotel, the management plan to have a gala dinner for the New Year’s Eve featuring some of the Gambia’s finest stars. He added that among the hallmarks on the night will be spectacular fireworks welcoming New Year in grand style.
“During the gala dinner we have an international buffet that would cover everything that people need during the event. Therefore, we are kindly inviting everyone in The Gambia to come and participate. Metzy hotel residence is fabulous and being a new hotel, it is very good for every Gambian to grab the opportunity to come and experience Metzy style.”
