The Gambia’s Young Scorpions have arrived in Bamako, Mali, to begin preparations for their upcoming international assignment.
The delegation landed at Modibo Keïta International Airport on Tuesday after travelling with Ethiopian Airlines via Dakar, Senegal.
The team is led by Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Executive Committee member and Banjul Regional Football Association president Modou Sowe.
Upon arrival, the Gambian delegation checked into Hôtel Millennium Kamissa, a four-star hotel in Bamako’s ACI 2000 district, where they are sharing accommodation with their Senegalese counterparts.
The Young Scorpions held their first training session later on Tuesday as the technical team began preparations for the challenges ahead.
The early arrival and initial training session are expected to give the team time to adjust to the local environment and prepare for their assignment as they seek to represent The Gambia in the international competition.
