The West Coast Regional Football Coaches Association (WCRFCA) has commenced a week-long D-License coaching course aimed at strengthening the technical knowledge and coaching capacity of its members.
The training, which brings together 30 coaches, is being held at the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum as part of the association’s efforts to promote coach education and professional development in the West Coast Region.
The course is being directed by WCRFCA President Lamin LS Sambou, with Saidou O. Jeng and Amadou Demba serving as instructors and Amadou Tamba as course coordinator.
The programme combines theoretical and practical sessions designed to provide participants with a broader understanding of modern football coaching methods.
Participants began the latest sessions with a review of topics covered previously, including the role of a coach, principles of the game and training-session planning.
The coaches have also taken part in practical exercises focusing on technical areas such as dribbling and turning, among other aspects of player development.
The course forms part of the WCRFCA’s continuing efforts to improve coaching standards and provide its members with opportunities for professional development.
The association said strengthening coach education remained essential to improving player development and the overall standard of football in the region.
