Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to development programmes targeting vulnerable youth and women, following a meeting on Monday with an African Development Bank (AfDB) mission team at State House.
The meeting focused on progress under the Vulnerable Youth and Women Support Project and the Resilient and Vulnerable Youth and Women Support Project, which are supporting interventions in health, education, skills development and livelihoods across the country.
Vice President Jallow said the government remained committed to supporting the development interventions and strengthening its collaboration with the AfDB to improve the lives and livelihoods of Gambians.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for the government and the development bank’s mission team to discuss the progress of the two projects and their interventions aimed at addressing the needs of vulnerable groups.
The projects cover key areas including health, education, skills development and livelihoods, with particular attention to vulnerable youth and women.
The Vice President reiterated the government’s willingness to work with the AfDB to advance initiatives that contribute to inclusive development and improve opportunities for vulnerable sections of the population.
