The charitable arm of Unique Group, Unique Foundation, has donated D100,000 to the Gambia Football Academies Association (GFAA) to support grassroots football development in The Gambia.

The cheque was presented on 3 July at the Unique Group headquarters on Kairaba Avenue, marking the beginning of a partnership between the Foundation and the GFAA aimed at promoting youth football.

Speaking during the presentation, Sales and Marketing Manager at Unique Solutions, Alieu Bah, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to investing in grassroots sports and community development.

He said the company remains committed to supporting initiatives that deliver lasting benefits to local organisations and communities through youth development programmes.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the association, GFAA Chairman Yahya Manneh thanked the Foundation for its support, describing the contribution as a significant boost to the association’s activities.

He said the donation would primarily benefit young players participating in the GFAA Youth League and expressed hope that the partnership would be sustained.

Representing Unique Group Chief Executive Officer Papa Yusupha Njie, Modou Mass Laye reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining a long-term relationship with the association.

He said the company recognised the importance of providing young footballers with the support needed for their development and expressed confidence that the funds would be used for their intended purpose.

GFAA Vice President and Head of Competitions Abdourahman Bah welcomed the partnership and said the association would encourage its stakeholders to support the company’s services.

In addition to the cash donation, Unique Group announced it will sponsor the GFAA Youth League’s Golden Boot Award, Player of the League Award and Best Goalkeeper Award as part of its support for grassroots football development.
