Turkish Airlines has recognized Ms. Ramatoulie Cham, a customer service officer with GIA Handling Services, as its Employee of the Month for her outstanding professionalism, teamwork and commitment to quality customer service.
The award ceremony, held on Tuesday at Banjul International Airport, included a complimentary return air ticket to a destination of her choice.
The recognition is part of Turkish Airlines’ Employee of the Month initiative, which celebrates staff members who demonstrate exceptional dedication, teamwork, positive attitude and commitment to improving passenger experience and airline operations.
Presenting the award, Turkish Airlines Station Manager Masum Keserci said the initiative aims to celebrate excellence and acknowledge employees who make meaningful contributions to the success of the airline’s operations.
He said the award was based not only on hard work but also on professionalism, teamwork and the positive impact employees make in delivering services to passengers and airline partners.
Keserci commended Ms. Cham for her dedication and exemplary performance, describing her recognition as a reflection of her commitment and positive attitude.
He also encouraged the GIA Handling Services team to continue working together to maintain high standards of service delivery.
GIA Handling Services Managing Director Numo Sanneh thanked Turkish Airlines for recognising the efforts and professionalism of the company’s staff.
He described the award as a demonstration of the strong partnership between Turkish Airlines and GIA Handling Services, adding that it reflected confidence in the quality and reliability of ground-handling services provided at Banjul International Airport.
Sanneh congratulated Ms. Cham and praised the entire GIA team for their customer-focused approach, urging staff to continue striving for excellence.
Representing the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Senior Communications Officer Aminata Sanneh applauded Turkish Airlines for acknowledging the efforts of GIA Handling Services employees.
She said recognising staff contributions helps motivate employees, strengthen partnerships and encourage continuous improvement in service delivery.
Receiving the award, Ms. Cham expressed appreciation to Turkish Airlines, GIA management and her colleagues for their support.
She dedicated the recognition to the customer service team and pledged to continue improving her skills, supporting colleagues and delivering quality services.
The ceremony also highlighted the contribution of GIA Handling Services staff in ensuring smooth and efficient airline operations at Banjul International Airport.
