Touray’s FA have been crowned Brikama Sports Committee Super Cup champions after defeating Misera United FC 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Touray’s FA started the final strongly, controlling proceedings and creating several promising chances during the opening half.
Despite their dominance, they were unable to find the breakthrough before the interval as Misera United held firm defensively.
Misera United returned from the break with greater intensity, with tactical adjustments allowing them to grow into the contest.
They enjoyed a larger share of possession during the second half as they searched for a way through the Touray’s FA defence.
Touray’s FA, however, remained a threat and continued to create opportunities, but neither side could find the decisive goal after 90 minutes.
The match therefore went to a penalty shootout, where Touray’s FA held their nerve to secure a 4-3 victory and lift the Super Cup trophy.
As champions, Touray’s FA received the Super Cup trophy and a cash prize of D25,000, while runners-up Misera United FC were awarded D20,000.
