Team Gambia’s women’s beach volleyball team has qualified for the Round of 16 at the CAVB Senior Beach Volleyball Continental Championship despite a 0-2 defeat to Cape Verde in their final pool-stage match.
The Gambian pair put up a strong fight but lost the opening set 20-22 before falling 17-21 in the second.

Despite the defeat, The Gambia’s performances during the pool stage were sufficient to secure a place in the knockout phase of the competition.
The Gambian team will now prepare for the Round of 16, where they will face stronger opposition as the tournament enters its decisive phase.
The team will be hoping to build on its performances in the group stage and maintain its push towards qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
