Team Gambia has received the national flag ahead of its participation in the CAVB Men’s African Nations Cup in Tunis, Tunisia.
The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF) delegation paid a courtesy visit Friday to the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the national team prepares for the continental competition.
The delegation was led by the GVBF First Vice-President and included the Secretary-General, members of the federation’s executive, representatives of the National Sports Council (NSC) and Ministry of Youth and Sports, the head coach and technical team, players and the team’s accompanying referee.
The Minister of Youth and Sports was represented by Permanent Secretary Bulli Dibba, who officially handed over the national flag to the team and encouraged the delegation ahead of its campaign in Tunisia.
In his remarks, the GVBF First Vice-President expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the NSC for their continued support to the national team and the development of volleyball in The Gambia.
The team captain also thanked the authorities for their support and reaffirmed the players’ commitment to representing The Gambia with pride at the continental tournament
