Rush Soccer Academy defeated their opponents 2-1 to win the Bakau Junior Nawettan title after an entertaining final played in Bakau.
Abdou Suso gave Rush Soccer Academy an early lead with a free-kick before Amadou Jan Barry doubled the advantage after converting a cross from the right flank.
The opposing side pulled a goal back before halftime from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
Rush Soccer Academy defended their lead throughout the second half despite sustained pressure from their opponents and heavy rainfall before the referee’s final whistle confirmed their victory.
For winning the competition, the academy received the championship trophy and a cash prize of D1,500.
The victory was celebrated by players, coaches and supporters, including parents who remained at the venue despite the heavy rain. Following the match, the team captain lifted the trophy alongside his mother.
The triumph adds to Rush Soccer Academy’s achievements in youth football and reflects the club’s continued focus on developing young football talent.
