Pipeline FC of Soma advanced to the final of the Lower River Region (LRR) Third Division League after defeating Black Horse FC 2-1 in their semi-final match played on Sunday.
The victory at the Soma Mini Stadium secured a place in the final for Pipeline FC, who are making their debut in the regional competition.
Pipeline FC overcame one of the tournament favourites with a disciplined display to continue an impressive campaign that began with successful qualification for the league.
The newcomers have exceeded expectations throughout the competition, producing a series of consistent performances to earn a place in the championship match.
Pipeline FC will now face Dibba Oil FC in an all-Jarra West District final, guaranteeing that the district will produce this season’s LRR Third Division League champions.
