People’s Alliance Party (PAP) leader, Ebrima Tabora Manneh has advised residents of Jokadou Darsilameh in the North Bank Region to vote wisely in the December 2026 presidential election, as he pledges to address concerns affecting young people and women.
Manneh made the call on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 during a visit to the community ahead of a rally held later in the evening.
During the engagement, youth and women representatives raised concerns about the difficulties facing their communities, particularly the challenges affecting young people and women.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, Tama Jammeh asked Manneh about his plans for young people and women, particularly those struggling with their livelihoods.
Jammeh says young people are the “engine” of the country and asked the PAP leader to explain what strategies his party has for addressing the challenges faced by the youth and women.
He also told Manneh that residents wanted to see changes and urged him to make his intentions clear to voters, saying they would support him if they were convinced of his leadership.
Representing the women, a woman identified as Neneh urged voters to learn from past experiences when making their choice at the polls.
She also expressed support for Manneh, saying the community now had an opportunity to support someone from the Niumi area seeking the presidency.
Responding to the concerns raised, Manneh said he understood the difficulties facing young people and women because of his own background and experience in the community.
He said he was familiar with farming and the challenges faced by people trying to make a living through farming, driving, trading and other small-scale activities.
Manneh further said political leaders should put the interests of the country ahead of personal interests. He said PAP would not engage in insults or political arguments and maintained that his party was committed to conducting its political activities without attacking others.
Addressing the gathering, Manneh said that if elected president for the next five years, he would work to bring changes to the country.
He also urged voters not to consider any election outcome predetermined, saying that political contests remain open until voters cast their ballots.
In his concluding remarks, Manneh advised residents to accept whatever campaign materials or assistance other political parties may offer during the election period, but to ultimately make their voting decision based on who they believe can move the country forward.
“If you choose me to be your president, I will not disappoint you,” Manneh told the gathering, while describing his intention to serve the country as genuine.
The Jokadou Darsilameh visit formed part of PAP’s campaign activities ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
