The Gambia Police Force announced on Friday, September 4, 2026, the promotion of 3,618 police officers across various ranks, ranging from Police Constable (PC) to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The promotions included – 1,407 Police Constables elevated to First Class Constable – 1,239 First Class Constables promoted to Corporal – 187 Corporals moved up to Sergeant – 373 Sergeants advancing to Sub-Inspector – 230 Sub-Inspectors now serving as Inspector – 114 Inspectors promoted to Chief Inspector – 68 Chief Inspectors elevated to Assistant Superintendent of Police.
These promotions represent a significant milestone in the professional development of the officers and are part of the GPF’s ongoing commitment to personnel advancement and effective service delivery.
The Police High Command congratulates all the newly promoted officers and emphasized that their new ranks come with heightened responsibilities and expectations of professionalism, discipline, integrity, and commitment to duty.
