The National Development Association (NDA) has rejoined Coalition 2026 with immediate effect following consultations over concerns it had raised regarding transparency and procedural integrity within the coalition process.

In a press release dated 18 August, the NDA said its National Executive had decided to return to the coalition after consultations with coalition stakeholders and assurances that steps were being taken to address its concerns.

The association said its decision to rejoin the coalition did not constitute a compromise of its principles but reflected its renewed commitment to working with coalition partners to build a broad-based political alternative for Gambians.

The NDA reaffirmed its commitment to what it described as the core principles of Coalition 2026, including unity, transparency, national interest and credible leadership.

It also acknowledged the efforts of the Coalition Mediation Committee and expressed hope that continued dialogue would help strengthen trust and cooperation among coalition members.

The NDA said it looked forward to participating actively in the next phases of Coalition 2026 as the opposition grouping works towards its stated objective of presenting an alternative to Gambian voters.

The decision brings the NDA back into the coalition with immediate effect, according to the statement signed by the association’s National Executive.
