The Gambia has recorded a milestone in volleyball officiating with Muhammed Cham becoming the country’s first official to earn a CAVB International Beach Volleyball Referee badge.
Cham successfully completed and passed the CAVB International Referee Course (IRCC), earning recognition as a CAVB International Beach Volleyball Referee.
The achievement marks a significant development for Gambian volleyball, as Cham becomes the first Gambian official to attain continental-level accreditation in beach volleyball officiating.
The official results announced on Wednesday confirmed Cham’s successful completion of the course and his elevation to the continental refereeing level.
His achievement is expected to enhance The Gambia’s representation in beach volleyball officiating competitions across Africa while contributing to the development of local refereeing standards.
The Gambia Volleyball Federation (GVBF) congratulated Cham on the accomplishment and wished him success as he begins his journey representing the country in continental beach volleyball officiating.
Cham’s achievement also provides an opportunity for other Gambian officials to pursue international accreditation and contribute to the continued growth of volleyball in the country.
