Morocco’s Ambassador to The Gambia, Ahmed Belhadj, on Thursday paid a farewell courtesy visit to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fabakary Tombong Jatta, as he concluded his diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, Speaker Jatta commended the longstanding bilateral relations between The Gambia and the Kingdom of Morocco, describing the ties between the two countries as strong and mutually beneficial.
He praised Ambassador Belhadj for his contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries, particularly his support for the National Assembly during his tenure in The Gambia.
The Speaker expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s efforts in promoting cordial relations and wished him success in his future diplomatic assignments.
For his part, Ambassador Belhadj thanked Speaker Jatta and members of the National Assembly for the cooperation and support extended to him throughout his assignment in The Gambia.
He expressed satisfaction with the cordial relations between the two countries and voiced confidence that the longstanding partnership would continue to deepen in the years ahead.
The visit formed part of the ambassador’s farewell engagements with senior Gambian officials ahead of the end of his diplomatic mission.
