GFF First Division champions Medina United Football Club have appointed former team manager Sheikh Tijan Wadda as their new Sporting Director following his significant contribution to the club’s rise through the Gambian football league system.
Wadda was instrumental in guiding Medina United from the Third Division to the First Division during his tenure as team manager, helping the club establish itself among the leading sides in Gambian football.
His tenure was also marked by Medina United’s success in winning the GFF First Division league title and the FA Cup, achievements that represented a significant milestone in the club’s development.
The appointment to Sporting Director is seen as recognition of Wadda’s contribution, commitment and knowledge of the club.
In his new role, Wadda is expected to continue working with the club’s technical and administrative structures as Medina United prepare for the challenges of competing at the top level of Gambian football.
The club’s decision to promote Wadda also signals its intention to build on the foundations established during its rapid progression from the lower divisions to the First Division.
