Mayamba FA staged a dramatic comeback on Wednesday to defeat Medina Daru 2-1 and finish top of Group A in the Essau Youth Sports Development Association Newettan, securing automatic qualification for the knockout stages.
Medina Daru took the lead in the 60th minute through Mamat Bah, but Mayamba FA responded three minutes later when Malang Marong levelled the scores.
Marong completed his brace in the 73rd minute to give Mayamba FA a 2-1 victory and move them to the summit of Group A with six points.
Mayamba FA finished ahead of Berending United on goals scored.
Earlier, Berending United also booked their place in the knockout stages following a 3-1 comeback victory over Buniadu United.
Amadou Sowe put Buniadu United ahead in the 14th minute before Nuha Sonko equalised after the break.
Amadou Sonko then gave Berending United the lead in the 48th minute, while Nuha Sonko completed his brace in the 69th minute to seal the victory.
