Negotiations between Liverpool and Brighton are progressing as the Premier League champions pursue the signing of Gambian international Yankuba Minteh in a deal reportedly valued at around £70 million.

Liverpool have had two offers rejected by Brighton in the past 48 hours, with bids of £50 million and £60 million falling short of the south coast club’s asking price. However, discussions between the clubs are continuing in a positive atmosphere.

Brighton are understood to value the 21-year-old winger at approximately £70 million, and there is growing optimism among the parties involved that an agreement can be reached.

Minteh is awaiting progress in the club-to-club negotiations before discussing personal terms with Liverpool. His representative, Bakary Bojang, is working alongside leading English sports agency CAA Stellar to facilitate the proposed transfer.

While personal terms have yet to be agreed, they are not considered a significant hurdle, with the coming 24 hours expected to be decisive in Liverpool’s efforts to secure the Gambian star’s move to Anfield.
