Gambian forward Lamin Jawneh was on target as New York Cosmos secured a 3-2 home victory over Richmond Kickers in a USL League One match.
Jawneh, wearing the No. 19 jersey, scored in the 21st minute to extend the Cosmos’ lead to 2-0 after the home side had made a strong start to the match.
The goal marked another contribution from the Gambian forward, who joined the club earlier this year and has featured regularly during the 2026 season.
New York Cosmos controlled much of the opening stages after taking an early advantage, but Richmond Kickers responded and kept the match competitive.
The visitors scored twice as the game progressed, but the Cosmos held on to secure all three points with a 3-2 victory in front of their home supporters.
Jawneh’s latest goal adds to his contributions for the club since his arrival and further underlines his role in the team’s attacking play.
The victory moved New York Cosmos to 15th position in the USL League One standings as they continue their campaign.
