Kunkujang Friends have been crowned champions of the 2026 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Beach Soccer League after defeating Banjul Bees 6-3 in a thrilling final played at Palma Rima Beach.
Kunkujang Friends produced a dominant display, combining clinical finishing with disciplined defending to secure victory and claim the country’s top beach soccer prize.
The triumph marked the end of an impressive campaign for Kunkujang Friends, who were rewarded with the league trophy, gold medals and a cash prize of D75,000.
Banjul Bees put up a strong challenge but were unable to contain Kunkujang Friends’ attacking threat, finishing the competition as runners-up after an entertaining final that highlighted the growing quality of beach soccer in The Gambia.
Individual recognition at the end of the tournament saw Team Rhino forward Kebba Ceesay emerge as the league’s top scorer after finishing the campaign with 24 goals.
Although Team Rhino failed to reach the final, Ceesay’s goal-scoring performance earned him the leading scorer award and underlined his impact throughout the competition.
The successful conclusion of the 2026 GFF Beach Soccer League further reflects the continued growth of the sport in The Gambia, with increased competitiveness, strong performances and rising interest among supporters.
