Koita FC, Red Scorpions FC reach Women’s FF Cup final after penalty shootout drama

Koita FC and Red Scorpions FC have booked their places in the 2026 Women’s FF Cup final after winning dramatic semifinal ties decided by penalty shootouts on Wednesday.

At the Bakau Mini Stadium, Koita FC overcame Darboes FC 2-2 in regulation time before securing a narrow 2-1 victory on penalties.

Darboes FC opened the scoring through Lucy Pererra in the 41st minute, but Koita FC responded after the break with Ngonneh Sanneh equalising in the 49th minute. Rasmatoulayew Drame then put Koita FC ahead four minutes later, before Jarra Keita restored parity in the 69th minute to force a shootout.

Koita FC held their composure from the spot to clinch the win and advance to the final.

In the second semifinal at Yundum, Red Scorpions FC and TMT FC played out a goalless draw over 90 minutes in a tightly contested encounter.

Red Scorpions FC eventually prevailed 8-7 in a marathon penalty shootout to secure their place in the final after a tense finish.

The final will see Koita FC face Red Scorpions FC as both sides aim to crown their resilient semifinal performances with the 2026 Women’s FF Cup title.
