The Kaur Senior Secondary School (KSSS) Class of 1998 has donated a giant printer and prizes to their alma mater as part of efforts to support teaching and learning at the institution.

The donation was made on Saturday, 4 July 2026, during the school’s Speech and Prize-Giving Day and send-off ceremony for Grade 12 students held at the school premises in Kaur.

The alumni group, led by Dudu Bah, also pledged to construct a security block for the school as part of their continued efforts to contribute to the development of the institution.

Speaking at the ceremony, KSSS Principal Jeng Sey commended the former students for their commitment and valuable contribution towards improving the school’s learning environment.

In his 2025/2026 annual report, Sey described the occasion as a significant milestone, noting that the Class of 1998 occupies a special place in the history of the school as one of its pioneering groups.

“This year marks a significant occasion as we honour the Class of 1998, the first sons and daughters of Mother Kaur Senior Secondary School. They have truly paved the way for future generations, and we are proud to welcome them back in such large numbers for our Speech and Prize-Giving Day,” he said.

The principal highlighted the increasing role of alumni in supporting educational institutions, saying many former students are making meaningful contributions in various professions while continuing to give back to their schools.

He said the donation of the printer and prizes reflected the alumni’s dedication to promoting academic excellence and strengthening school activities.

“To the members of the Class of 1998, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support. Thank you for giving back to the school that nurtured you,” Sey said.

He added that the donated equipment would enhance administrative and academic operations, while the prizes would encourage students to strive for excellence in their studies.

The KSSS Class of 1998 is among several alumni groups across The Gambia that have been supporting their former schools through infrastructure development, learning materials and other initiatives aimed at improving education outcomes.
