Juwani FC have been crowned EYSDa Super Cup champions after defeating reigning league champions Medina Daru 1-0 in a tightly contested final played in Essau.
The encounter, which brought together the knockout cup holders and the league champions, lived up to expectations, with both sides displaying strong organisation, determination and discipline from the opening whistle.
Juwani broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when their talismanic forward, Musa Sanyang, produced a spectacular strike to give his side the lead.
Medina Daru, who have won the EYSDa Nawettan League in consecutive seasons, pushed for an equaliser after the break, but Juwani remained composed and defended their advantage until the final whistle.
The victory gives Juwani FC another major piece of silverware as they prepare for the new EYSDa Nawettan campaign.
The triumph came only weeks after the tragic passing of Juwani’s young captain, Siaka Sanyang.
The team’s celebrations were understandably subdued, with the players choosing to honour their fallen captain with dignity. The Super Cup trophy now serves as a fitting tribute to Siaka and his contribution to the club.
Despite the defeat, Medina Daru will now turn their attention to the 2026-27 EYSDa Nawettan League, where they will seek to defend their title and secure a historic third consecutive championship.
