Gambian international winger Jesper Ceesay is on the verge of joining English Championship side Portsmouth FC from Turkish club Antalyaspor after the two clubs reportedly reached an agreement on the transfer.

According to media reports, Portsmouth and Antalyaspor have agreed on a transfer fee of about €1 million, while the player’s personal terms were finalised approximately two weeks ago, leaving only the completion of the formalities before the move is confirmed.

The transfer will mark the next stage in Ceesay’s professional career, making Portsmouth his fifth club. He is also expected to reunite with fellow Gambian international Ebou Adams, who is already an established member of the Championship side.

A move to Portsmouth would provide the winger with an opportunity to compete in one of Europe’s most competitive second-tier leagues as the club prepares for the 2026/27 Championship season.

If completed, the transfer will make Ceesay the latest Gambian footballer to secure a move to English football, underscoring the growing presence of Gambian players in European leagues.
