Inspector General of Police Seedy Mukhtar Touray on Wednesday conducted a pre-deployment briefing for Gambia Police Force officers preparing to serve with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).
Addressing the officers, Touray congratulated them on their selection and reminded them of the responsibility of representing the Gambia Police Force and The Gambia in an international peacekeeping mission.
He urged them to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline and integrity while respecting human rights and adhering to United Nations standards of conduct.
Touray also encouraged the officers to work effectively with personnel from different national and professional backgrounds and to maintain a high level of discipline throughout their deployment.
He urged them to remain focused, support one another and conduct themselves in a manner that would uphold the reputation of the Gambia Police Force and The Gambia during their mission.
