The Hope for Health Foundation on Monday donated a consignment of medical supplies to the Brikama District Hospital, with the items provided by the Take Care Foundation.
The donation is intended to support healthcare delivery at the facility and improve access to essential medical supplies for patients.
The consignment included one carton each of: syringes, bandages, catheters, eyeglasses, maternity materials, urine bags and giving sets, as well as a feeding pump and two cartons of orthopaedic materials.
It also included a carton containing assorted medical items, including plasters, prickers and other supplies.
The items were formally received on behalf of the Brikama District Hospital by the facility’s administrator, Ms Ceicelia.
Speaking on behalf of the hospital, Ceicelia expressed appreciation to the Hope for Health Foundation and the Take Care Foundation for the donation.
She said the supplies came at an important time and would contribute to the hospital’s efforts to provide quality healthcare services to patients and the wider community.
The Hope for Health Foundation said it remained committed to supporting health facilities and contributing to improved access to essential healthcare services in The Gambia.
The foundation also expressed appreciation to the Take Care Foundation for making the supplies available to support healthcare institutions.
Ceicelia said partnerships and collective efforts between organisations and healthcare facilities could make a meaningful difference in the lives of communities served by the hospital.
