Gambian youngster Sheikh Tijan Touray has signed a two-year professional contract with the Lazio B Team after impressing with the Italian club’s under-18 side.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Brikama, earned promotion to the B Team following a series of strong performances for Lazio’s U-18 team.
Touray is capable of playing in both defence and midfield and will continue his development with the club’s B Team as he seeks to progress to the senior squad.
His promotion follows positive assessments from the B Team’s coaching staff, who were impressed by his performances during the past season.
Touray’s rise to the professional ranks marks another milestone for Gambian footballers pursuing careers in Europe.
The youngster’s journey to professional football has been marked by determination, having travelled to Europe in search of opportunities to advance his football career.
