Gambian Dutch Lions Football Club have announced changes to their technical and administrative structures ahead of the new season, with Lamin Chatty appointed head coach of the first team.
Chatty has been promoted from assistant coach to head coach with immediate effect, as the club seeks to build on its existing technical structure.
The coach has been part of the Dutch Lions setup for the past three seasons, working with the team in both the Second and First Divisions.
His appointment is expected to provide continuity, given his familiarity with the players and the club’s technical operations.
Chatty, who holds a B Licence, previously served as head coach of Busumbala Sanjonding, now known as Busumbala Dutch Lions, where he guided the team to the West Coast Regional League title.
He will be assisted by Baboucarr “Rio” Foon, who has been promoted from the club’s Third Division team, while Abdoulie “Aimar” Dampha will serve as second assistant coach.
The club has also made changes to its administrative structure, with former team trainer Kebba Marong appointed Team Manager.
At board level, Musa Jammeh has been appointed president of Gambian Dutch Lions, while Arie Treffers, a co-owner of the club, will assume the presidency of the newly established African Football Connection platform.
Gibou Mendy will continue as First Vice President, with Mankamang Jawla and Dembo Yaffa appointed Second and Third Vice Presidents respectively.
Fanta Jatta has also been appointed Administrative Manager.
The club said the restructuring was aimed at strengthening its internal organisation, improving day-to-day management and maintaining a professional approach as it continues its development on and off the pitch.
