The Gambia’s U18 National Beach Volleyball Team has departed for The Hague, Netherlands, where they will represent the country at the FIVB U18 World Beach Volleyball Championships scheduled for 7-12 July 2026.
The Gambian team qualified for the global competition after winning the African U18 Beach Volleyball Championships, entering the tournament as continental champions.
The young athletes will compete against some of the world’s best U18 beach volleyball players as they seek to make a strong impression on the international stage.
The squad includes African champions Abdallah Bah and Omar Bojang, who will compete in the boys’ category, while Fatou Bah and Mariam Sanyang will represent The Gambia in the girls’ competition.
The delegation is led by Head Coach Amadou Jarju, assisted by Lamin Suwareh and Alhagie Ceesay, who will oversee the team’s participation throughout the championship.
The Gambia Volleyball Federation has wished the team success in the tournament and called on Gambians to support the young athletes as they represent the country at the world championship.
