President Adama Barrow on Thursday concluded an official visit to Guinea Conakry at the invitation of Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya, reaffirming the cordial relations between the two countries.
The visit focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, trade, energy, defense and security, tourism, science and technology, youth and sports, fisheries, higher education and culture.
Prior to the signing of a Joint Communiqué, delegations from the two countries held bilateral discussions led by their respective ministers of foreign affairs.
The Gambian officials engaged their Guinean counterparts on key areas of mutual interest, with discussions aimed at strengthening existing cooperation and identifying new opportunities for practical collaboration.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional integration and other matters of common interest.
President Barrow and President Doumbouya subsequently held discussions on bilateral relations, regional cooperation and shared development priorities.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Joint Communiqué, witnessed by both Heads of State, reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation between The Gambia and Guinea.
President Barrow expressed appreciation to President Doumbouya, as well as the Government and people of Guinea, for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation.
The visit is expected to contribute to consolidating the longstanding relationship between The Gambia and Guinea and advancing a stronger, mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
