Fortune FC’s Under-16 team have made a flying start to their Gothia Cup campaign after recording a convincing 6-0 victory over Swedish side Örby IS in the opening match of the world’s largest international youth football tournament.
The Gambian youngsters produced an impressive attacking display, taking control of the match from the early stages and securing a comfortable win.
Bangally Manneh opened the scoring for Fortune FC in the fourth minute before Alpha Omar Sowe doubled the advantage ten minutes later.
Manneh completed his brace in the 21st minute, while Adama Nyassi added a fourth goal four minutes later as Fortune FC dominated the first half.
The Gambian side continued their strong performance after the break, maintaining pressure on their opponents and creating further scoring opportunities.
Abdoulie Jallow extended Fortune FC’s lead in the 40th minute before completing his brace four minutes later to seal the emphatic 6-0 victory.
The result underlines the quality and potential of Fortune FC’s youth development programme, with the team combining effective attacking play, defensive discipline and strong teamwork throughout the encounter.
The victory gives Fortune FC U-16 a strong foundation as they continue their pursuit of success in this year’s Gothia Cup.
