Faji Kunda Major Health Centre has recorded an average of 3,972 deliveries annually, with its nurse-midwives conducting about 16 deliveries each day, according to data presented at the facility’s annual award and data presentation ceremony.
The event, held on Saturday at the Penchabi Hall of Paradise Suites Hotel, brought together health officials and members of the public to review the facility’s achievements and challenges.
In her welcoming remarks, Ramatoulie Camara, Officer-in-Charge of Faji Kunda Major Health Centre, commended the facility’s staff for their dedication and hard work in providing health services to the community of Faji Kunda and beyond.
She described the data presentation as an important occasion for sharing the centre’s achievements and challenges with the public.
Fatou Sanyang, Regional Principal Nursing Officer of Western One Health Region, said the health centre served a population of 313,505 people, with 20 nurse-midwives attending to deliveries.
According to her, the facility conducts an average of 16 deliveries per day, 331 per month and 3,972 deliveries annually.
Dr Fatoumatta Dibba, Deputy Director of Health Services, also commended the staff for their continued efforts in providing services to the public.
She urged them to maintain the momentum, saying their efforts and services were appreciated while encouraging them to do more.
Dr Dibba further described health as a key priority for the Ministry, noting that efforts are underway to improve the country’s health sector.
The ceremony also recognised the contributions of staff as the facility reflected on its service delivery and performance over the past year.
