Essau Central and defending champions Medina Daru began their Essau Zone Nawettaan campaigns with victories on Matchday Two, as both sides secured important wins in their opening fixtures.
In Group B, Essau Central defeated Mbollet Ba USA 2-1, with last season’s Golden Boot winner Adama Jallow scoring twice in the second and 13th minutes.
Jallow’s early goals gave Essau Central a comfortable advantage before Samba Faye reduced the deficit with a well-taken free-kick.
Mbollet Ba USA pressed for an equaliser, but Essau Central held on to secure all three points.
In Group A, defending champions Medina Daru opened their title defence with a narrow 1-0 victory over Berending United.
Team captain Momodou “Mbappé” Bah scored the decisive goal in the 38th minute to give Medina Daru a winning start.
Both Essau Central and Medina Daru will now look to build on their opening victories as the Essau Zone Nawettaan competition continues.
