Gambia internationals Sulayman Camara and Ebrima Colley have been recognised with the Unique Group Man of the Match awards for their performances in the country’s opening two AFCON 2027 qualifying matches.
Camara received the first award following The Gambia’s 2-1 victory over Somalia in their opening qualifier at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The winger came on as a second-half substitute and provided an attacking boost as the Scorpions secured all three points on home soil.
Colley was subsequently named Man of the Match after an outstanding display against Ghana in Accra.
The forward scored twice as The Gambia came from behind to defeat the Black Stars 4-2 in a notable away victory.
Colley’s brace was complemented by goals from Muhammed Badamosi and captain Omar Colley as the Scorpions secured their second consecutive win in the qualifying campaign.
The two awards were presented to Camara and Colley by Scorpions head coach Jonathan McKinstry at the team’s base at the Lancaster Hotel in Accra.
The victories have given The Gambia a positive start to their campaign to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
