The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed three Gambian football officials for upcoming continental assignments in Beach Soccer and the WAFU Zone A U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Gambian football will be represented by the officials in two CAF competitions scheduled for October 2026.

Yusupha Sanyang has been appointed as Reserve Assistant Referee for the Beach Soccer qualifier between Ghana and Nigeria, scheduled for 18 October at the Keta Emancipation Beach Arena in Ghana.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m.

The appointment marks a milestone for Sanyang, who becomes the first Gambian referee to receive a CAF appointment for a Beach Soccer assignment.

Meanwhile, two other Gambian officials have been selected for the WAFU Zone A U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament in Mali.

Former Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Vice-President Bakary K. Jammeh has been appointed as a Match Commissioner, while experienced Gambian referee Muhammed Marigo has been selected among the refereeing officials for the tournament.

The WAFU Zone A U-20 AFCON qualifiers are scheduled to take place in Mali from 15 to 30 October 2026, with teams from across the region competing for qualification to the continental finals.
