Berending United 2-1 Mayamba FA

Berending United claimed their first win of the campaign in a closely contested Group A fixture.

Ansu Sonko opened the scoring in the 11th minute to give Berending an early lead, but Mayamba FA responded in first-half stoppage time through Malang Marong, who netted his second goal in as many matches to level the score at 1-1.

Veteran Kuruma Jatta restored Berending’s advantage in the 72nd minute, and his side held on to secure all three points.

The victory lifts Berending United to three points and second place in Group A, while Mayamba FA remain on three points in third position. Medina Daru top the group with six points from two matches.

Quarreh FA 1-1 Ndofan United

Quarreh FA produced a spirited comeback to earn a point against Ndofan United in the Group G encounter.

Ndofan took the lead in the second minute through Biram Marong and looked set for victory after Quarreh were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute, when substitute Modou Lamin Senghore was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Quarreh continued to press forward and were rewarded in stoppage time when substitute Assan Nyinng scored in the 81st minute to salvage a 1-1 draw.

The result earned Quarreh a valuable point after a resilient performance against the early Group G leaders.
