Belgian club KV Kortrijk has reportedly submitted a €1.5 million bid to Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade for Gambian midfielder Mahmudu Bajo.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a sought-after talent, with Kortrijk maintaining a strong interest in securing his services during the current transfer window.
Sources close to the player say Bajo is attracting attention from around 10 clubs across Turkey, Cyprus, Germany, Belgium, Poland, England and Major League Soccer (MLS).
Despite the growing interest, Red Star Belgrade’s valuation of the midfielder is understood to remain the main hurdle to any potential transfer.
Bajo’s future is expected to be one of the closely watched transfer stories involving Gambian footballers as clubs continue negotiations ahead of the new season.
