Gambian international striker Muhammed Badamosi continued his prolific scoring form by netting twice as Riga FC defeated Auda FK 2-0 away to climb to the top of the Latvian Virslīga standings.
The Scorpions forward gave Riga FC an early lead in the 11th minute after finishing clinically from inside the penalty area before doubling the advantage in first-half stoppage time (45+3) to seal the victory.
The brace further strengthened Badamosi’s impressive campaign, taking his league tally to 15 goals, along with two assists, in 21 Virslīga appearances this season.
The Gambian striker currently leads the league’s scoring chart and has emerged as a key figure in Riga FC’s title challenge, with his physical presence, aerial ability and clinical finishing proving decisive throughout the season.
Badamosi’s latest scoring feat also represents a personal milestone in his professional career. His 15 league goals are the highest he has recorded in a single club season, surpassing the 11 goals he scored while on loan at Serbian SuperLiga club Čukarički during the 2022/23 campaign.
The victory lifted Riga FC to the summit of the Latvian top flight as the club continues its push for the league title, with Badamosi playing a pivotal role in its success.
